Government of RS will distribute more than R$ 8 million for projects of innovation and fight against the pandemic

An initiative by Fapergs linked to Sict is intended to increase innovation activities and increase the competitiveness of companies in the State.

This last Monday (1), the State government launched the second edition of the TecnovaRS notice, with the objective of supporting the granting of economic subsidy resources (non-refundable), the development of innovative products and/or processes. The launch of the notice, which provides for the distribution of R$ 8.34 million, was announced by Governor Eduardo Leite and the President of Fapergs, Odir Dellagostin, in a live broadcast on social networks.

Of this estimated total, approximately R$ 1.2 million will be made available exclusively by healthcare companies that are developing specific technologies to combat the new coronavirus.

In addition, the notice is intended for companies with headquarters and administration in the State that have obtained gross revenue in the last fiscal year equal to or less than R$ 16 million. According to Luís Lamb, Secretary of Innovation, Science and Technology of the Rio Grande do Sul, this funding initiative aims to encourage science and technology to include the State in the global innovation map, and reinforces the partnership between the National Scientific and Technological Development Fund (FNDCT/Finep), Fapergs, Sebrae/RS, Badesul, Sict and Rede Gaúcha de Ambientes de Inovação (Reginp).
